The use of ear candles is a therapy with long traditions, utilized for centuries by Europeans, Native Americans, and Chinese alike.

Ear candles create a slight pressure from below and the vibrational wave in the air from the ear candle, caused by the movement of the flame, acts as a gentle massage of the eardrum. Waste products are lifted and carried with the smoke up into the wax candle's tube, creating a kind of chimney effect.

Before using ear candles, it is recommended to drip a couple of drops of ear oil into the ear a few minutes before treatment. The ear oil softens the earwax, making it easier to remove from the ear canals. Ear oil can be purchased together with the ear candle.

You must have someone assist you with the treatment.
It takes approximately ten minutes per ear. It is recommended to treat both ears simultaneously.

The ear candles are easy to use. The protective disc is attached to the ear candle. The thin end of the ear candle is gently inserted into the ear canal, and the thick end is lit. The ear candle burns down slowly. If smoke seeps out of the ear, gently push the ear candle a little further in until it is completely sealed. When the ear candle has burned down to the marked ring, it is removed from the ear and extinguished in a glass of water.
