St. John's wort has for immemorial times been used as a versatile herbal oil, in addition to an excellent flavoring and coloring agent in herbal bitters. It gives a beautiful, reddish color to the oil and a pleasant scent. Traditionally used externally for pain, wounds, and injuries.

Avoid concurrent use with antidepressants, heart medication, statins, protease inhibitors, blood thinners, and immunosuppressants.
